WE'RE BACK!

Hey guys,

After a longgggggg 15 weeks off, we are finally back where we belong!

Who would have ever thought that in our lifetime we would be put into lockdown and not allowed to work… that is literally the dream, but it turned into reality! How many times have we said, “Oh I would love to have some time off?”

We know a lot of people really struggled going through lockdown and we did too! The girls found it such a strange and surreal experience not being able to go out or go to work, especially Tamsyn who isn't herself unless she's got a pair of scissors or tint brush in her hand. But after a couple of weeks of rest, we used the time to build our knowledge and skills. Not only with our hairdressing, we also considered some other areas that are relevant to our job.

All the girls did a course about Barbicide, which is the product we use to sterilise our equipment. We also all did a Covid-19 course to ensure we had the best knowledge we could for when we re-opened.

Abbie and Lauren completed an online course called ‘Eyes on cancer’. It was all about finding early signs of something cancerous on the skin and scalp, as we work very closely with the scalp they both thought it would be a good course to complete. Obviously, they are not doctors, but they might see something that could cause a concern and it’s better to be safe than sorry!

We feel like we can have such an impact on our clients and sometimes they may tell us things that they don’t tell their own family, that we decided to all go on another course called ‘Behind the mask’. This is a website that offers free training for hair and beauty professionals to enable us to help make a stand against domestic abuse!

It has given us help to spot the signs and guide us on how to respond in the best way, without intervening or interfering. We are always here to chat to you about everything and anything and we are always here to help.

Our colour knowledge has been refreshed, we all re-took our L’Oréal colour keys, plus many other colour courses. We tried out a new vivid colour brand, and tried out some new techniques the girls had watched. You probably have seen our beautiful training heads popping up all over Facebook and Instagram.

We interacted with other hairdressers within the industry, watching and sharing ideas, techniques, tips and tricks. Entered lots of competitions on Instagram where we had to get creative and think outside the box.

Kaysha kept herself busy by having her baby boy!!! After causing her a day of worry, he is absolutely perfect and is now a healthy little boy! She is living with the sleepless nights and the girls that keep her on her toes all day every day!

We are now at the end of week 3 and as you can imagine, we are sooooo busy in the salon, working with the new guidelines and trying to fit everybody in. These visors are not as bad as they seem and we quite like them, but we constantly forget they are on and hit ourselves in the face. We are receiving a lot of messages daily about appointments so we have decided to up our hours to try and get more of you in. Please be patient with use, we are trying to work as safely as possible whilst trying to fit in as many of you as we can!

We look forward to seeing each and every one of you!

Love the girls at Pinups xxx
